Stupid spam text

Just got this spam offering me to get $4.44 million for help in a financial transaction:

I am aware of the international monitoring of all large-scale financial movements after the September 11th 2001 terrorist attack on America and to avoid any state of financial investigation I will provide a classified clearance paper from the relevant body which will exonerate the money from either drug, money laundered or terrorist related proceeds.

Hm, classified clearance paper.

Is there a thing like a slow explosion? Spam can really be philosophical!

Link block

To reboot this blog, I may include regularly a list of sites I visited recently, maybe even daily or close to daily, mostly without or only a few comments. Here´s the list for the past few days. However, the problem with writing such a list is that not everythink qualifies for this list:

Stopped blogging

I actually stopped blogging ´cause I just recently received this email from the general manager of a bank in London:

i got your email address from our Foreign Services Department of our
Foreign
Affairs Ministry I am the accounting
officer in charge OF mr Henry espiratu
On July 20, 2002; Mr Henry espiratu a National of France, who used
to be a private contractor with the Shell Petroleum Development
Company in Saudi Arabia. Mr Henry espiratu Made a Numbered time
(Fixed deposit) for 36 calendar months, valued at GBP£30, 000,000.00
(Thirty Million Pounds only) in my Branch.
Upon maturity in 2005, I sent a routine notification to his
forwarding address but got no reply, After a month, we sent a
reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employers,
Shell Petroleum Development Company in Saudi Arabia that Mr Henry
espiratu
And his wife with their three children were involved in an
auto crash, all occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost their
lives.
On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a
WILL,and all attempts to trace his next of kin was fruitless. I
therefore made further investigation and discovered that Mr Henry
espiratu did not declare any next of kin or Relations in all his
official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in my Bank.

Guess I´m rich. Have to thank that Foreign Services Department. I didn´t know you could earn that much money working at Shell.

Well, a bit biased; Apple-biased actually. Quite funny, though - not so funny, though, that you might fell off your chair. (via mobile-macs)

Advertising revisited

Is it funny? No idea. G Hicks sent me this movie from Hart + Larsson. It´s big - 160 MB. Crazy, you never know where you end up when clicking an unknown link.

Probably related to some people considering this blog an advertising blog, prompting a battle of the ad blogs nomination. Well, I could win a cool T-shirt. :-) Vote, vote, vote!

Now I even received ads from Scholz & Friends Berlin. Coming up soon - I´m too tired now.

Returning to Scripting.com

BallmerinmotionImage on the right found at Scripting.com

Actually, it´s strange: I started my blog reading habits by reading Dave Winer´s blog, then  found that there way to much content there to read. Now I´m returning. In fact, that´s the problem with many blogs - sometimes you are strongly interested in a few post over some days or even weeks. Then it turns boring. Wait (for better content) or leave - that´s the question!

In the beginning I read blogs only in the web browser. Then, when the list of interesting sites was getting bigger and bigger, I tried various feed readers and finally decided to use FeedDemon. Now, FeedDemon is full of feeds I hardly find time to read. I consider many of them interesting, but I don´t have the time to read them. When the number of unread items becomes to big, I delete some feeds.

Now, I have some of the most interesting blogs again bookmarked in the browser´s toolbar. Going in circles!

Tip: In Firefox, you can add a folder to the bookmarks toolbar.

Lately I´m getting lot of spam offers. Too bad I´m not interested in fake luxury watches (or whatever they are offering).

Because you're my best amigo, I am mailing you this dynamite e-shop page!

Oh no, the British...

The American's guide to speaking British... is really funny. I like particularly this term:

Momentarily - As you come into land at an American airport and the announcement says that you will be landing momentarily, look around to see if anyone is sniggering. That will be the Brits! I never did figure out why they say this. Momentarily to us means that something will only happen for an instant - a very short space of time. So if the plane lands momentarily will there be enough time for anyone to get off? Weird!
